Clinical Research, Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance Diploma Program

AAPS is the first Canadian College to develop and offer this ministry approved program in Canada.

The Clinical Research, Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance Diploma program at AAPS is intended to help students develop the specialized knowledge and skills necessary to design and write study protocols, monitor and manage clinical trials and conduct Pharmacovigilance and drug safety activities, which includes reporting adverse reactions and preparing periodic safety update reports.

This program provides an in-depth overview of the industry by focusing on the global healthcare system as well as the Canadian healthcare system, Canadian regulatory agencies, health care legislation, international guidelines, and standard operating procedures (SOP). By integrating present-day relevant real cases, AAPS provides students with the foundational knowledge and hands-on training to formulate an effective clinical development plan; ensure the credibility and accuracy of clinical trial data; and that the rights, confidentiality and integrity of trial subjects are protected.

In Canada, there is currently a high demand for knowledgeable professionals with specialized Clinical Research and Pharmacovigilance training. These individuals are essential to protecting study participants and the general population from marketed drugs, and in reducing the time between drug development and marketing approval.

Graduates from the AAPS Clinical Research, Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance program are highly qualified for careers in the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnological, Natural health Products, Cosmetics, Medical devices, and Allied industries.
